The Centre for Indian Classical Dance is delighted to present an Indian Classical and Creative Dance Show, where its talented students and collaborators will perform beautiful items in Kathak, Creative and Folk style.
The show is aiming to present the hard work of CICD’s students as well as the creative ideas and choreographies developed throughout the academic year in the studio by Nilima Devi MBE, founder, Kathak teacher, mentor and choreographer at the Centre for Indian Classical Dance in Leicester.
The evening dedicated to the Indian dance and culture in its different forms and styles is also aiming to encourage the young generations in approaching such a beautiful discipline that develops body and mind, through coordination, memory, consistent training and footwork.
The show will present all the CICD’s students, studying for different ISTD grades, under Nilima Devi MBE, the Belgrave Neighbourhood Centre Kathak Group as part of the extended CICD classes, studying under Priti Raithatha and close collaborators and dancers, part of CICD, such as Chandni Premgi, Karishma Vora and the Folk Dance Group of CICD. The performance also includes, items choreographed by Kesha Raithatha, who trained in Kathak at CICD and later in India.
