CICD has a long history of creating
well-received dance productions, involving various classical,
folk and creative dance styles and large numbers of performers.
The Centre's achievements in the area of performing can
be broadly divided into two distinct categories.
Our major performances include full-scale dance-dramas
such as The Ugly Duckling, Kathak-Katha, Triangle, Indra
Dhanush and Vyom, as well as more distinctive solo items
such as Katha Kahe so Kathak. All were toured and widely
performed in the UK.
In addition, the Centre has organised and supported
a large number of partnership performances, collaborating
with other organisations and individuals in the South
Asian arts field. A particular objective has been to
provide a platform for young, upcoming performers to
display their talents and develop their on-stage confidence.
