Commissioned by Leicester City Council through a Millennium Festival grant, CICD produced this Indian dance
ballet to celebrate Diwali in the year 2000.
Based on the nine planets of the solar system (navagraha), this stunning feature-length production depicted
through dance and drama Hindu mythology and astrology and their effects on human as well as natural life.
A large cast of selected students from the very best of the South Asian Dance Development Programme,
combined with professional dance artists, ensured this was one of the finest spectacles of leicester's
Diwali celebrations.
